When George Angeloff plays golf, he usually takes a lot of divots.

He once owned a golden retriever named Divot.

Now, he owns and operates Divot's Golf, a full-line golf shop at 1219 E. Cape Coral Parkway in the Big John's Shopping Plaza. The store opened in October.

"We're completely different from any other golf store," Angeloff said. "We have indoor and outdoor putting greens and a swing analysis machine.

Prior to opening the golf shop Angeloff worked in the automobile industry as a service manager, and wanted to try something different, so, he opened the store.

Angeloff's family owns a golf course in Newaygo, Mich.

The 1,860-square-foot store features clothing and shoe areas, club area with putting green and sand trap, indoor golf swing analysis with full graphics and more.

There is also an outdoor putting area.

George Angeloff, owner of Divot's Golf, practices his swing in a golf simulator with swing graphics. The store has indoor and outdoor putting greens, clothing, accessories, clubs and more. Professional golf lessons are also available.

"People are welcome to bring their own clubs and buy a bucket of balls and play in the air conditioning," Angeloff said.

The store features clubs by Taylor Made, Adams, Nickert and Nike, golfing accessories and equipment.

"If I don't have it I can get it," Angeloff said.

Golf lessons are available by Bob Range, a former golf pro and general manager at the Royal Tee Golf Club.

Those wanting to try to improve their swing can try a swing analysis machine, which has a variety of graphics and can show what improvement is needed in their swing.

"The machine lets you check your swing and see how accurate your swing is," Angeloff said.

Club fitting and regripping are also available.

"I want to keep it local, keep it affordable and have a good time playing golf," Angeloff said.

The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
